This is your opportunity to see and feel what DANCE-MOVEMENT Therapy is all about!
This workshop invites us to explore body-based expressivity using Somatics and Dance-Movement Therapy. Movement will be guided and self directed, dancing independently and together. The spirit of this workshop will foster play and pleasure and offers a psychotherapeutic experience that is safely held and judgement-free. Supporting community engagement and embodied expression.
Adults 18+.
No dance or movement experience required.
Come exactly as you are.
Connecting body, mind and wellbeing using a somatic, conceptual and creative approach to movement. These movement sessions offer embodied experientials to develop bodyfulness, through mindful attention during action. Programming is founded upon psychotherapeutic principles, to facilitate giving physical shape and form to human thoughts, emotions and life experience. Programming is group centred, which means that sessions are directed according to developing emergent themes and needs of the group. We will start by focussing on the physical domain, allowing movement and stories to unfold. Movers are invited to a held, safe, welcoming and positive movement space, supported by group members. No movement experience necessary, just a curiosity to explore and move.

For Healing, Expression and Joy
A STARTTS NSW program helping refugees rebuild their lives after trauma.
This program offers opportunities for creating safety and joyful curious expression through movement, using principles of Dance-Movement Therapy. Group members are invited to explore imaginative themes to inspire, support and strengthen self, community interaction, engagement, cohesion, relationships and health in a positive atmosphere. Fostering social well being and purpose through movement, these sessions acknowledge the affects of trauma on the body, and especially integration of self.
